لم يتوقف مركز الأطفال والفتوة منذ منتصف اكتوبر عن تقديم الدعم ودروس التقوية لطلاب المرحلة الاساسية الابتدائية، في ظل الأوضاع الأقتصادية والاجتماعية الصعبة والفساد السياسي للبنان اضافة للمعاناة في مواجهة وباء كورونا، وتردد الحكومة اللبنانية المستقيلة باتخاذ سياسة تربوية واضحة، وضياع الطلاب ما بين التعليم حضوريا او عن بعد، بينما الأسر تعاني العجز في القدرة الأقتصادية والعلمية لمساعدة اولادهم. لذا فان الطلاب هم الخاسر الأكبر والأكثر عرضة لدفع الثمن من استقرارهم التعليمي والنفسي والمستقبل الغامض، حيث يتهددهم التسرب والأمية والعنف وضياع المستقبل.
لذا بعد اتخاذ كافة اجراءات الوقاية والتعقيم والتباعد وتقسيم الصفوف على دفعتين يقوم معلمو مركز الأطفال والفتوة بالتنسيق مع ادارة مدارس الأونروا المعنية بمساهمة متواضعة في توفير التدعيم الدراسي للطلاب في مخيمي شاتيلا ونهر البارد. كما يفرد المركز مساحة للطلاب اللاجئين السوريين الذين حتى اليوم لم يداومو في المدارس الرسمية. مع الشكر للاصدقاء من اسرة المركز في السويد وايطاليا وفرنسا وبريطانيا والنمسا واليونان الذين يرسلون التبرعات الخاصة لدعم برامج عمل المركز مع الأطفال والشباب الى جانب مساهمات الأهل الرمزية لتغطية النفقات.

Since mid-October, CYC didn’t stop providing Education support and strengthening the primary school students, in spite of Corona epidemic and difficult economic and social conditions, plus the political corruption of Lebanon, and the reluctance of the resigned Lebanese government to adopt a clear strategy, especially an education policy. The students are lost between education in attendance or From distance. While most of the families are in deficits of economic, living costs, and lacking of education and capacity to help their children. Therefore, students are the biggest losers and most likely will pay the price for their educational and psychological stability, uncertain future with the threatened of dropout, illiteracy, violence and mal behavior.

Therefore, after taking all preventive and protection measures, sterilization, spacing and dividing classes in two, CYC teachers in coordination with the concerned UNRWA schools administrations, made a modest contribution to provide academic support to the Palestinian and Syrian refugee students in Shatila and Nahr al-Bared camps. Thanks to CYC Family, the friends in Sweden, Italy, France, UK, Austria, Greece and others beside the children parents who are contributing to support and cover the expenses of CYC programs for the refugee children and families.
